New Technology: WiTricity(Wireless Electriciaty)

Is there a use of cords anymore? Now MIT came out with a new way to spread energy to our appliances...Wireless. Can you imagine not having to plug in your phone or TV? Well now it is possible, wireless technology has been invented and will soon be released to the public.

A professor woke up for the third night in a row from his wife's cell phone beeping because it was running low on power. He thought to himself, "why couldn't the walls just use all the electricity inside themselves and power the phone?"

That professor came up with idea of resonant energy transfer. In a normal transformer to coils of wire transfer energy from one another. He came up with the idea of being able to stretch those coils and still transfer energy from them how?

Resonance- efficient energy exchange between tuned resonant objects. If you can cause a coil to resonate you are pretty much getting it to pulse in changing high frequency. If you can bring another device into that frequency range that will pick up that frequency it will pick it up and transfer it back into energy.Ya this energy will change everything..yes Germann everything.

With this technology we will be able to put theese Resonance devices in our walls and they could run everything in our house and you woulnt have to worry about charging you phone or plugging something in or even un plugging something.

Final Draft

In the past century we saw technology evolve drastically. In a Information Processing class I have found out on the technology that has come out to the public that pretty soon we won't be using computers anymore and that we will have mini computers built in to our clothing and will help us with our every day chores. I don't think that that will happen write away but i know that keyboards will soon be know more. The history of changes in computer software tells me that in the future the devices like the Peregrine and Microsoft speech will take over the use of the keyboard.

In the past to have information you would have to write it down on paper, then the typewriter was inverted then the keyboard. Now we are starting to get used to Microsoft speech. Even though the software is still kind of sketchy it has room to update.

Microsoft Speech

This software first has to recognize your voice before you can actually start talking or I guess you could call it typing.I found myself when I would talk that the microphone would pick up different words than the ones i was actually saying. I guess when we type we fumble keys around and don't actually type the right word all the the time. So I guess speech wouldn't be any different for spell check than a keyboard would.

The Peregrine
Keyboards aren't just used for typing, they are also used for hot keys in gaming photo and video editing software and much more. The peregrine is a device invented by Brett Baier that make the use of hot keys a lot more simple.
The Peregrine, I'm talking about is not the bird but the glove with keys built into the fingers and and activator pads built into your palm and thumb. The point of the glove is so you don't have to look at your keyboard to remember hot keys. It makes it quicker and easier for using hot keys for such things like PC gaming. You just press your a key(on your finger) with the activation pad (on your thumb and palm) to use a hot key sounds difficult but is quite easy. It makes editing a lot easier when your using advanced software.

Well those examples above are only a couple that came to my head I'm sure you heard of different gadgets that will help replace the keyboard. By change in history of our we wrote things down and the devices that are being invented now i believe that the keyboard will be no more.

Did you Know 4.0

The world is changing magnificently. The way we take information or news around the world is unreal. Today we watched a video called Did you Know 4.0 and I learned that in the U.S.A there are 240 000 000 TVs that are owned by people and for some reason 2 million of them are in bathrooms. But i found out that t.v is not the way we take in or information. The rate of digital information is going up by the millions. In every month three major TV channels get 10 million uploads. Those channels have been around for quite awhile now though. Three websites that

Obviously this is where people are coming to watch videos for every reason. Why waste your money on a newspaper everyday when you can hit the world wide web and get your information for free. Paper is going to be useless pretty soon. The world will function on the machine. America itself has access to over 1 000 000 000 000 000 webpages, 65 000 iPhone apps,
10 500 radio stations, 5 500 magazines and 200+cable channels. The easiest way to access information as you see from statistics is by a blow out, Digitalized.

Now people have equipment that is pretty much a mini computer in your pocket and yes you guessed it. Things like phones, i pods, cameras, etc pretty much all have wifi built right in to them so you can access the internet with the touch of a button or even now the touch of the screen.

If those stats don't blow your mind already check theses stats out Newspaper circulation is down 7 million in the past 25 years and in the last 5 years unique readers of online newspapers are up million. In the past year advertising for: Newspaper is down 18.7% TV 10.1% Radio 11.7 % and magazines 14.8 % but the digital advertising industry is going up: Cell phones 18.1 % and computers 9.2 %.

The way we take in info is changing rapidly. The world is running on the internet and portable digital devices.

In February John McCain raised 11 million for his U.S presidential bid. That same month Barack Obama attended no campaign fundraisers... HOWWWW????????

Well he went on social networking sites and raised 55million in those 29 days. haha ya..wow. If you think all this means nothing and the world inst going digital. I don't even know what to say to you and you shouldn't be viewing my blog.

Ip 10 Thesis: The future of Technology quotes

I am writing an essay for Information Processing 10. In my essay I will possibly discussing the following. My thesis is :The history of changes in computer hardware tells me that in the future that there will be no more keyboards and we will be using devices like the peregrine and speech technology.

Future technology we wont have any more keyboards we will have things like gloves and speech technology. An example of this is the peregrine

“I remember working in my run-down little apartment, toiling in

obscurity, making prototypes out of Nike golf gloves, trying to perfect this crazy idea. There were many days spent wondering if it would become what I envisioned, but as I look at what The PEREGRINE has become today I hope that gamers everywhere

will experience the same magic I felt years ago when I made my first prototype, holding my breath as I tapped my fingers and watched things happen at the slightest touch. It was empowering, and I dreamed that someday people everywhere would be able to “Touch for the Win.” I hope you like it. :)”— Brent Baier, Inventor of The PEREGRINE

Also replacing the keyboard will be speech. Typing as go

then easy has saying 123

“We’ve made great strides in speech technologies, but have only scratched the surface of what is possible,” said Jeff Raikes, president of the Microsoft Business Division. “The acquisition of Tell me will bolster Microsoft’s existing speech capabilities, bringing both immediate and longer-term value to our customers and partners.”

All those things might be useless to now that we have technology such as the sixth sense.

"Can you hold on for a momentwhile I take out my phone and Google you?" Or when you go to the supermarket and you're standing there in that huge aisle of different types of toilet papers, you don't take out your cell phone, and open a browser, and go to a website to try to decide which of these different types of toilet papers is the most ecologically responsible purchase to make? Pattie Mes MIT

Those are just a few things that there is for the future this is not my blog on this subject its only a assignment for school and we had to give quotes

New Technology:The Peregrine.

Underneath a Christian bookstore, in a small cramped office sit half a dozen or so gamers all huddled over their monitors. Spells fly, swords fall, bodies drop. Mouses click, sweat drips, and the keyboards are silent. By the end of the night, the number of keystrokes amounts to zero. How come? It’s a little device called The Peregrine.

“I remember working in my run-down little apartment, toiling in obscurity, making prototypes out of Nike golf gloves, trying to perfect this crazy idea. There were many days spent wondering if it would become what I envisioned, but as I look at what The PEREGRINE has become today I hope that gamers everywhere will experience the same magic I felt years ago when I made my first prototype, holding my breath as I tapped my fingers and watched things happen at the slightest touch. It was empowering, and I dreamed that someday people everywhere would be able to “Touch for the Win.” I hope you like it. ” – Brent Baier

The Peregrine is the brainchild of Brent Baier, founder and CEO of Iron Will Technologies. It is the ultimate controller for gamers interested in RTS, MMO, or Sim gaming. The Peregrine has a total of eighteen touch points and three activator pads, amounting to over thirty possible commands. The thing that sets it apart from any other interface is that all the commands are mapped to your hand.

Think it’s crazy? Well close your eyes. Tap your fingers to your thumb, or the meet of your thumb, or the palm of your hand. Now press your thumb against the knuckles of your fingers. Did you hit every spot? Of course! People know their hands, even with their eyes closed. The Peregrine takes all the complicated controls in video games, like DotA, HoN, ARMA II, and any other game that requires a multitude of buttons to be pushed, and maps them to your hand, to something that is literally a part of you.

With the Peregrine, all of your actions are triggered by pressing one of the eighteen touchpoints to one of the three activator pads, which can be seen above. These touchpoints are fully customizable, with proprietary software included with the glove that makes remapping keys easy (trust me, I’ve used it). The magnetic “pod” (the thing on the back of the glove) has onboard memory which can hold up to four custom profiles. This is extremely useful if you have a profile for a favorite character, hero, etc. mapped out, and then want to go to a LAN party, or a friend’s house and play. The pod also has adjustable lighting modes, including breathing and a “pew-pew” laser mode which makes the pod light up every time you activate a touchpoint.

The glove is made of a highly breathable, stretchable, comfortable material, and it fits well on your hand (it will be coming in three sizes). In high sweat areas of the hand, a super breathable mesh is used to cut down on the amount of perspiration, as can be seen in the image above. It’s magnetic pod allows for you to take off the pod, go grab something from the fridge, go to the bathroom, and even prevents from cord tearing when air punching. The glove is completely spill proof (meaning you can spill your Bawls on it and keep playing), and is washable. The touchpoints are made of microwound steel spring, which, by the way, is also military strength. This glove will be able to withstand anything you throw at it. Except maybe flaming shurikens. Maybe.

If you would like to find out more about The Peregrine, I invite you to visit them at ThePeregrine.com

New Technology Siftables

http://siftables.com/. A new break thorugh in technology. Technology that you can work with your hands and you guessed it MIT Media Lab were the ones who came out with this new technology. David Merrill and Jeevan Kalanithi at the MIT Media Lab actually. These siftables are little wireless monitors that can detect each other. This little screens are pretty high tech for how small they are. Each of these cubes is equipped with an accelerometer, hard drive, wifi and of course the monitor. The point of the siftables is instead of clicking and typing with a keyboard you just lift turn tilt and lift each siftable. for example with the siftable sound board tool (shown in the video below) you have the two lead siftables and the other siftables are programed to be be bass treble guitar drums and more and to add each you just put it close to the lead siftables to add the effect. You can use other siftables to control the bass treble volume...etc. This is used for much more then just a DJ tool it can be used for reading making open ended stories and the possibilities are endless. I find that the siftables were pretty cool but i found them useless for todays technology since you can do any of that on your computer with just a click of a mouse. In the video below they make it pretty obvious that this was just the beginning to a whole new level of technology and they leave the world wondering what they are going to make next.

Is It Worth Getting A Blu-Ray Player?

There has been a big up roll if there is a point of buying a Blu-Ray player instead of just keep buying DVDs. Well I'm here to tell you the answer. I just bought a Blu-Ray Player myself and the difference is noticeable right away the picture is in 1080p and any person notices the difference between normal TV and HD right? The sound on a Blu-Ray Disk sounds so much clearer i found especially will 5.1 digital surround sound.

If your one of them people who are scared or wonder what will i do with my DVDs or what will you do with your DVD player or even are wondering if you can play blu-ray on your potable DVD player.

Well you can keep your DVDs a blu-ray player can read them to and when you buy blue ray disks they usually come with a blu-ray disk of the movie and a DVD disk to so you can keep your DVD players.

Some other features a blu-ray player might have:
WiFi to connect to your computer

So my advice to you as a reader is buy a blu-ray player the difference and experiences of movies is unreal. Live the movie don't watch it.

Sixth Sense Technology

A new sense has been brought to life from MIT Media Lab. It is a computer sense, it is pretty much combining a human being and normal PC systems. You don't have to carry around a laptop, camera or a smart phone. All you have to do is simple hand gestures and the sixth sense reacts to your movements. The sixth sense gadget is plainly a web cam hooked up to a hard drive disk (hdd) and a projector,I find it has a mini computer. This invention is huge to future technology, this device pretty much turns the world into a massive computer. Everything can be used to project the computer on for example if you want to use the sixth sense for a watch all you have to do is stick out your hand and draw a watch on you wrist, or say you need a calculator you can simply stick out your hand and it turns into a calculator. Lets say your talking to a person and you want to know what they like to do on the web. The sixth sense will project everything they like to do on the person your talking to. Now your heading to your flight and you think your going to be late so you stick out you ticket and the sixth sense tells you if your flight has been delayed at all. This device is like the made up ones we see in movies like 007 and iron man. All them gadgets are coming to life and will be used. Any average person can afford this gadget to it sells for $350.http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/pattie_maes_demos_the_sixth_sense.html
